Carpenter Farms maintains a herd of 75–100 commercial Black Angus cow-calf pairs on roughly 200 acres of what was once a working dairy farm. Our cattle play a vital role in daily ranch life — we use them to work our horses, from cutters to ranch horses, giving our stock valuable experience beyond the arena and exposure to real-world obstacles.
Our cattle operation is a closed herd, meaning we raise and restock with our own high-quality replacement heifers as older cows age out. Fourteen years in the making, our breeding program follows a simple philosophy: every heifer born should be better than her mom. Today, most of our brood cows trace a known lineage more than five generations deep, with over 93.75% verified parentage.
We utilize two registered Angus bulls ranked in the top 3% of the breed for maternal EPDs, ensuring our replacement heifers develop into exceptional brood cows. For our beef program, we also feed out steers each year using two additional bulls carrying carcass data EPDs near the top 1% of the breed. This combination of genetics and care results in high-quality beef with outstanding flavor and tenderness.
Our steers are pasture-raised and grain-finished on a balanced diet of hay, grain, and grass. The beef we produce supplies the Carpenter Farms family and several local families who value knowing exactly where their beef comes from.
We offer a variety of options — from individual retail cuts to quarter, half, and whole beef packages — all raised right here on the farm. Because when it comes to taste, there’s simply nothing like fresh, locally raised beef from Carpenter Farms.
