Our training program is focused on building skills from the ground up. Step one for the success of any horse and rider is to have a strong and solid foundation. All of our foals are handled from day one. They are imprinted just hours after they are born which creates a lifetime bond and trust in humans. We want to have a partnership with all of the horses we train with a bond of trust.
Our horses are guided through extensive ground training with horses we take in from the outside trained by the same system as those born here. This is an important step in setting riders and horses up for success. Our primary focus on the ground is to get control of both shoulders, hips and head. We develop a horse that is soft from reins to feet. This process prepares your horse for all situations including the farrier, vet, trailer loading and riding. It is here where horses begin to learn that the release of pressure is the reward.
When ground work is complete we head to the arena to get going under saddle. No matter what direction the horse will go we put the five foundations of reining training on them, with the most important being guide. Control the direction of a willing horse and you are riding a safe animal. Horse training comes down to a simple process – we translate our thought and make it the horse’s thought, which translates to a winning partnership.
